About Weber City
A resident, Mr. F.M. Parker was also the owner of a gas station/store. He was a devoted listener of a comedy radio show called the “Amos and Andy Show”. He and his wife would tune into this radio program each time it aired. On the show, Andy was a “want to be” land developer and he was promoting a little development called Weber City; with mountains on the side and a river on the other side. Pepsodent toothpaste was one of the sponsors of the radio program. Pepsodent sold maps of Andy’s Weber City. Mr. Parker enjoyed the Amos and Andy show so much that he said this place should be called Weber City. He painted a sign and placed it in frontย of his business that said, “Welcome to Weber City”. Several years later, on April 6, 1954 our Town was incorporated as Weber City
